Several years of browsing the OEM and strap manufacturer booths (sometimes in far-flung halls) at Baselworld have resulted in US being able to narrow down the search for a quality strap manufacturer who is up to our very high quality standards. This has culminated in selecting an artisanale strap manufacturing partner in Kowloon, Hong Kong, who makes straps for some of the most exclusive names in high-end brands, to create a small range of beautiful leather straps made exclusively under our own marque from genuine USA-sourced Horween leather. Founded in Chicago in 1905, the Horween company is still owned by the same family of master tanners and they have always maintained the philosophy of creating the best leather possible.
The company founder Isodore Horween is quoted as saying:
“We should take the best of everything; the best hides, the best oils, the best dyes and finishes – then we do whatever it takes to make that leather the best. The price goes on last, and if we cannot sell it for what it is worth, we should not make that leather”
When this leather is made into soft leather watch straps, the result is astonishing, making other leather straps seem very average. The suppleness, strength, colours, smell, feel…everything adds up to make a strap of outstanding quality. It is no wonder that one can find Horween watch straps for sale at prices up to AUD 220.00 (or more…!).

The small Geneva Blue strap range consists solely of Chromexcel, Essex and Dublin Horween leather straps in a few guises: Vegetable tanned, mill dyed, hand-rubbed, waxy, hand-stained…and in vintage-inspired black and brown tones, initially available for watches with lug widths of 20mm, 22mm and 24mm, All Geneva Blue straps feature 2 keepers as well as quick-release spring bars for security/peace of mind and safe installation/removal on any watch lugs, without the use of tools which are prone to damage the watch case.

After many months of sample production and quality testing, the straps are now available for sale on the Geneva Blue website at prices ranging from approx. AUD 110.00 – 140.00
