Ref 79220R (R for ‘rouge’ or red - actually a beautiful bordeaux) was the very 1st Black Bay released when Tudor stepped out of Rolex’s shadow and released the Black Bay and Pelagos models after decades of mediocre designs that looked like they’d come from parts bins at the big sister company.

Sporting a matte black dial with gold gilt printing/minute track and the original rose motif and gold snowflake hands, this was a direct throwback to the original Tudor subs of the 60s.

In good overall condition with some very lights scratches, this listing is a rare opportunity to acquire a piece of Tudor history at a reasonable price.
